.B Scope
.br
Per nodemap (except the default nodemap).

.TP
.B Default
.br
Empty string.
.SH DESCRIPTION
The
.B identity
parameter shows the human-readable identity associated with a dynamic nodemap.
Dynamic nodemaps are created automatically by certain authentication and
identity management mechanisms (such as GSS IAM) to provide fine-grained,
per-identity mapping for clients.
.PP
For static nodemaps configured via
.BR lctl-nodemap-add (8),
this parameter is always empty. For dynamic nodemaps, it contains the
string representation of the external identity (e.g., a GSS principal name)
that the nodemap was created for, up to a maximum of 1024 characters.
.PP
This parameter is read-only and is intended for debugging and administrative
monitoring to correlate dynamic nodemaps with their corresponding external
identities.
.SH MODULES
This parameter is in the following modules:
.EX
.B nodemap.*.identity
.EE
.SH EXAMPLES
To see the identity of a specific nodemap:
.EX
.RB "# " "lctl get_param nodemap.dynamic_123.identity"
nodemap.dynamic_123.identity=user@DOMAIN.COM
.EE
To see all nodemaps and their identities:
.EX
.RB "# " "lctl get_param nodemap.*.identity"
.EE
.SH AVAILABILITY
The
.B nodemap.identity
parameter is part of the
.BR lustre (7)
filesystem package since release 2.18.0.
